Alex's Herbalist Journey: A Path to Maori Natural Healing
As a high school student and proud 10% owner of ŌKU, my involvement in the business has been both a learning journey and a passion project. From planting herbs in the lush landscapes of Aotearoa to processing these precious plants, I have had hands-on experience at every step. I’ve also been actively involved in crafting our unique products, ensuring that the powerful properties of our native flora are captured in every bottle. Beyond production, I’ve delved into the world of marketing, sharing the incredible benefits of our products with a wider audience. This experience has not only deepened my connection to our land and its rich botanical heritage but also taught me invaluable skills in business and sustainability. At ŌKU, we are dedicated to helping people rediscover the amazing properties of our ngahere (forests), and I am thrilled to be a part of this journey.
